Emerson has completed its $1.5 billion acquisition of UK-based critical power vendor Chloride Group PLC, the company announced today. Emerson (EMR) said the acquisition will boost the growth of its solutions for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment and other data center products.

Bay-Area Digital Realty Trust Data Centers Save 6 to 10M in Power Costs Annually
Validating the effectiveness of its energy efficiency initiatives, wholesale data center provider Digital Realty Trust (www.digitalrealtytrust.com) has saved an estimated 10,000 kW annually (worth about $6 to 10 million) at its Bay Area facilities, according to the results of an energy efficiency audit of its San Francisco and Silicon Valley properties.
